Below are some answers to our most frequent questions. We hope this is useful and if your question hasn’t been answered please contact us for more info.
What can I expect from classes?
The children’s class is a full immersion program which means children are part of a class which is run entirely in Italian. Two teachers lead the class, always speaking in Italian. The idea is that children will absorb the language while they are engaged in activities of play, song, movement and culture. This means they might not come home sharing their new vocabulary as you would expect from other classes but we’ve found that over time they are able to build their language and learning.
Do I stay for the class or go?
You are welcome to sit in our waiting area for the duration of the class. However if you would prefer not to, our classes are located next to the Adelaide Central Markets if you want to head off for a quick coffee or market shop. Our classes are led by a professional child care worker.
Does my child need to know any Italian?
No, this class is about language development and full immersion so they are not expected to know any Italian before hand.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held at Filef Adelaide’s premises which can be found at 15 Lowe St, Adelaide – located near the Adelaide Central Markets.
